How's March treating you so far? Lots going on, eh? Just a quick word about COVID-19: I think we all got the message to wash your hands for a solid 20 seconds (please refer to the picture below for Lady Macbeth's hand washing advice) and to not touch your face. There seems to be some confusion about face masks. Those flimsy surgical masks are beneficial for only a couple things: 1) as a reminder to not touch your face and 2) preventing the spread of infection IF YOU'RE THE INFECTED PARTY. Surgical masks will NOT prevent you from acquiring an airborne pathogen like COVID-19. In fact, if you're "breathing easier" with one of those masks on, you're more likely to breathe in the very things you're trying to keep out. If you want to use a mask to prevent getting an illness, you need to use an N95 (or higher!) rated mask, and just as important, that mask needs to fit snugly so the filter can work. Make sense? The irony is not lost on me that I now encourage you to take a deep breath, have some tea, and live life, as much as circumstances allow. The best of health to all of you, EJ
